Tips for making the most of your Spatanic essential oil

Are you curious about the world of Spatanic essential oils but unsure where to begin? Essential oils have gained popularity for their versatile uses, from relaxation and aromatherapy to skincare and cleaning. If you're eager to harness their potential but need some guidance, look no further! Here are six tips to help you make the most out of your essential oils:

  1. Choose quality oils: The key to experiencing the full benefits of essential oils lies in their quality. Opt for pure natural essential oils to ensure potency and effectiveness. All Spatanic essential oils 100% pure and sourced from well known sustainable producers.

  2. Understand dilution: Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts and should be diluted before application to avoid skin irritation or sensitivity. A common dilution ratio is 2-3 drops of essential oil per teaspoon of carrier oil (such as coconut oil or jojoba oil) for topical use. Always perform a patch test before applying a new oil to a larger area of skin.

  3. Explore different methods of use: There are various ways to incorporate essential oils into your daily routine. Experiment with diffusing oils in a diffuser to scent the air and create a calming ambiance. You can also add a few drops to your bathwater for a luxurious and aromatic soak, or mix them into homemade cleaning products for a natural alternative to harsh chemicals. 4. Be aware of safety precautions: While essential oils offer numerous benefits, it's important to use them safely. Some oils may not be suitable for certain individuals, such as pregnant women, young children, or pets. Additionally, certain oils can be photosensitive and may cause skin sensitivity when exposed to sunlight. Always read the product descriptions and caution notes of individual oils before use.

  5. Blend for Synergy: Get creative with blending different essential oils to create unique aromas and enhance their therapeutic properties. Consider blending calming oils like lavender and chamomile for relaxation, or citrus oils like lemon and bergamot for an uplifting mood boost. We are planning to write a follow-up blog post about blending recipes soon!

  6. Practice Mindfulness: Incorporating essential oils into your routine can be a mindful practice that promotes relaxation and well-being. Take a moment to inhale deeply and appreciate the aroma of your chosen oil, allowing it to ground you in the present moment. Whether you're diffusing oils during yoga practice or adding a few drops to your evening skincare routine, infuse each moment with intention and mindfulness.

More practical tips for using essential oil

    Oil burner

Fill the oil burner dish 2/3 with clean water and apply 3-7 drops of essential to the surface. The more essential oil you use the stronger the fragrance will be. It is always good to start with just a few drops. Light up a candle under the dish and enjoy. Note that both oil and water evaporates to the air. If the water evaporates before the oil, there is a risk of the oil burning and leaving dark marks to your oil burner.

    Diffuser

Make sure to follow your diffuser's directions as some diffusers have a specific place for applying fragrances. In general you can just apply 3-7 drops to the water tank.

    Aroma stone

Apply a drop of oil directly onto the stone.

Skincare, massage oils and oil perfumes

    • Apply two drops of essential oil to a full table spoon of carrier oil. For example jojoba oil, coconut oil, hemp seed or sesame seed oils are good carrier oils.
    • Essential oils are highly potent concentrations and should never be touched or used on skin undiluted.

    Bath, sauna and shampoo

    • Mix 5-10 drops of essential oil to a table spoon of your chosen bath base. As base you can use any foaming bath products such as shower gel or bubble bath. Mix the blend carefully and only after that dilute it to your bath water.
    • In sauna, apply a few drops of essential oil to the ladle just before throwing water over the hot stones.

    Cleaning and house hold work

    • Add a couple drops of essential oil on your vacuum’s filter or collection bag.
    • Apply a few drops of oil to a spray bottle full of water and create a fabric refresh spray. Shake well before use!
    • General purpose cleaning detergent: 1dl of water, 1dl of vinegar and 10-20 drops of tea tree essential oil. Shake well before spraying.

Essential oils, such as any oils, do not dilute to water. You will always need an emulsifier to make a proper dilution. A simple method to emulsify essential oils at home is to mix them with carrier oil, lotions, creams, or foaming bath products such as shampoos, liquid soaps or shower gels.

If you wish to mix essential oils with water (for example fabric freshener or cleaning spray) you must always shake the bottle well before each use.

We hope these tips will help you to make most of the magical Spatanic essential oils!
